...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 830 PM EDT FOR
SOUTHWESTERN BLOUNT AND NORTHEASTERN MONROE COUNTIES...

AT 631 PM EDT...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THAT EARLIER THUNDERSTORMS
PRODUCED UP TO THREE INCHES OF RAINFALL IN THE WARNED AREA. THIS HAS
LEAD TO SOME SHARP WATER RISES ON MOUNTAIN STREAMS AND CREEKS WITHIN
THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS...AS WELL AS SOME
MINOR FLOODING ACROSS THE WESTERN HALF OF BLOUNT COUNTY. RAINFALL
HAS TAPERED OFF...ANY ANY WATER SHOULD RECEDE OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR
TWO.

SOME LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE...
MARYVILLE...ALCOA...GREENBACK...HAPPY VALLEY...CITICO BEACH...
CLOVER HILL...TALASSEE AND DEALS GAP.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS. MOST FLOOD
DEATHS OCCUR IN VEHICLES.

FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE
YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME
KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS. CAMPERS AND HIKERS SHOULD AVOID STREAMS OR
CREEKS.
