FLOOD STATEMENT

...The flood warning continues for portions of the Ohio River affectin
   areas in Indiana...Kentucky and Illinois...

   At the Newburgh Dam affecting Spencer...Vanderburgh...
   Warrick...Daviess and Henderson counties.
   At Mount Vernon affecting Posey...Vanderburgh...
   Henderson and Union counties.
   At the J.T. Myers Dam affecting Posey and Union counties.
   At Shawneetown affecting Gallatin...Hardin...Crittenden
   and Union counties.

.With light to moderate rainfall across the lower Ohio River
basin over the past 24 hours, and additional rainfall expected
during the upcoming weekend, minor flood conditions will continue
and develop at Mount Vernon and the J.T. Myers Dam overnight.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

SAFETY MESSAGE...

Never drive cars...trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. The water may be too deep to allow safe passage. Never allow
children to play in or near flood waters. Stay tuned to NOAA Weather
Radio or your local media for further statements and possible updated
forecasts.

* Until Wednesday morning.
* At 8 PM Thursday the stage was 40.2 feet.
* Flood Stage is 38.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will crest near 41.8 feet
  Saturday evening.

* Until Thursday January 26.
* At 6 AM Thursday the stage was 33.1 feet.
* Flood Stage is 35.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage overnight and
  crest near 38.1 feet by Monday afternoon.
* Impact...At 40.0 Feet...Farm land and some main roads are flooded in
  places southwest and west of Mt. Vernon.

* From late tonight to Thursday January 26.
* At 8 PM Thursday the stage was 36.4 feet.
* Flood Stage is 37.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage overnight and
  crest near 39.9 feet Tuesday.
