FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
259 PM EDT MON JUL 25 2016

.DISCUSSION...AN UPPER-LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN
ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA THROUGH WEDNESDAY...WITH LARGE-SCALE
ATMOSPHERIC SUBSIDENCE OCCURRING. THIS WILL LIMIT THUNDERSTORM
DEVELOPMENT EACH DAY...WITH ONLY WIDELY SCATTERED ACTIVITY
EXPECTED MAINLY DURING THE MID-AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY EVENING
HOURS OF MAXIMUM HEATING.

WITH HIGH PRESSURE PARKED OFF THE COAST OF THE CAROLINAS AND
GEORGIA...AND A WEAK THERMAL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE ACROSS THE
PIEDMONT...ENOUGH OF A PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL SUPPORT FAIR
DISPERSION AT TIMES THIS EVENING THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY MORNING.
THIS FEATURE COMBINED WITH LIMITED LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE WILL
PREVENT ANY SIGNIFICANT FOG FROM DEVELOPING.

SURFACE WINDS TUESDAY WILL BE FROM THE SOUTHWEST AROUND 5 MPH
AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN INCREASE TO 5 TO 10 MPH BY AFTERNOON.
TRANSPORT WINDS WILL INCREASE TO AROUND 10 MPH FOR THE AFTERNOON.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO NEAR 40 PERCENT.
