FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
316 PM EDT THU MAY 5 2016

.DISCUSSION...DEEP LOW PRESSURE HAS DROPPED OVER THE REGION EARLY
THIS AFTERNOON...AND WILL REMAIN IN PLACE BEFORE MOVING OFFSHORE
FRIDAY EVENING. STRONG INSTABILITY WILL HELP TRIGGER BRIEF SHOWERS
WITH POSSIBLE SMALL HAIL THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND ONCE MORE
DURING FRIDAY AFTERNOON.

A GOOD PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL PROVIDE SOME LOW-LEVEL MIXING
THROUGH TONIGHT AND EARLY FRIDAY MORNING...RESULTING IN AT LEAST
FAIR DISPERSION. THIS COMBINED WITH THE DRIER AIRMASS WILL
PREVENT ANY FOG FROM FORMING.

SURFACE WINDS FRIDAY WILL BE FROM THE WEST-NORTHWEST AT 5 TO 10 MPH
AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN BECOME MORE NORTHWEST AROUIND 10 MPH
BY AFTERNOON. TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE NORTHWEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO AROUND 35 PERCENT IN THE AFTERNOON
EXCEPT 40 TO 45 PERCENT ACROSS THE NORTH MIDLANDS.
