FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
314 PM EST WED DEC 7 2016

.DISCUSSION...
FOG AND STRATUS MAY DEVELOP TONIGHT INTO THURSDAY MORNING AHEAD
OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT. WEST WINDS EARLY THURSDAY MORNING
WILL BECOME NW DURING THE AFTERNOON AS THE FRONT PASSES. TRANSPORT
WIND SPEEDS FROM 10 TO 20 MPH THURSDAY AFTERNOON. SHOWERS ARE
UNLIKELY DUE TO RELATIVELY DRY MID LEVELS.

CONTINUED NW WINDS WILL PUSH COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL MOVE INTO
THE AREA LATE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. AT THIS TIME WE EXPECT ENOUGH
LOW LEVEL MIXING ON THURSDAY NIGHT TO PREVENT OR DELAY THE SET UP
OF A NOCTURNAL INVERSION, ALLOWING FOR GOOD TO FAIR DISPERSION.
MIN RH VALUES ON FRIDAY WILL RANGE FROM 25 TO 30 PERCENT.
