Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northeast Montana
National Weather Service Glasgow MT
925 AM MDT Sun Jul 23 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR LOW
RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES
122, 134, 135, 136, AND 137...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH
MONDAY EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND GUSTY WIND FOR FIRE
WEATHER ZONES 120, 122, 134, 135, 136, AND 137...

.DISCUSSION...Steady south winds are expected this morning and
persist into the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front.
Expect low relative humidity amid very hot afternoon temperatures
today as well. Isolated dry thunderstorms may produce lightning
strikes along and ahead of the front this evening thorugh tonight.

The frontal passage is expected overnight with gusty northwest
winds developing on Monday. Despite lower high temperatures on
Monday, low relative humidity readings are still expected. As a
result of these considerations, critical fire weather conditions
will likely occur through at least the early part of the week. An
upper ridge building across the area into the middle part of the
week may only prolong the warm and dry weather conditions.
