Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
136 PM CDT Sat May 11 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Deep mixing and strong northwest wind gusts will foster excellent
vent rates this afternoon, with slightly less favorable
ventilation but drier fuels tomorrow as southwest winds are not
quite as strong. There will be a 10 to 20 percent chance for a
brief shower tomorrow evening mainly northwest of the Illinois
River where low level moisture will be highest as dewpoints climb
into the upper 50s. Widespread rain, with perhaps a couple rumbles
of thunder, returns on Monday as a low pressure system meanders
into the region from the west, giving many locations upwards of an
inch of total precipitation by the time it departs late Tuesday.
