Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
253 PM PDT Sat Aug 19 2017

...Threat of afternoon thunderstorms across mountains through
Tuesday...

.DISCUSSION...A thunderstorm has developed across the western
Ventura County Mountains. Additional isolated thunderstorms are a
possible today focused across the mountains, with slightly higher
chances for the Ventura and Santa Barbara County mountains. Brief
heavy downpours, small hail, and gusty and erratic winds are the
main threats with any thunderstorms that form. Fire starts from
lightning will also be possible especially with the dry fuels in
place. The potential for isolated thunderstorms continues for the
mountains through Tuesday.

Otherwise pretty quiet pattern next several days with typical
diurnally driven winds. Gradual cooling with increased marine layer
depth and coverage is expected through early next week.
