FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MARQUETTE MI
613 AM EDT WED JUL 29 2015

...LIGHT MORNING SHOWERS ENDING EAST...OTHERWISE DRY AND WINDY
TODAY ESPECIALLY OVER THE KEWEENAW...

.DISCUSSION...A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE REGION COULD BRING A NARROW
BAND OF ISOLATED LIGHT SHOWERS AND POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORMS TO THE EASTERN HALF
OF UPPER MICHIGAN THIS MORNING. OTHERWISE...WINDY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED
BEHIND THE FRONT INTO THIS EVENING...ESPECIALLY OVER THE KEWEENAW PENINSULA
WHERE WEST WIND GUSTS COULD EXCEED 40 MPH AT TIMES. THE DEEP MIXING OF
DRIER AIR TO THE SURFACE WILL LOWER MINIMUM HUMIDITIES TODAY INTO THE 30 TO
40 PERCENT RANGE WITH A FEW INLAND LOCATIONS EAST HALF DIPPING BELOW 30
PERCENT. BREEZY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO PERSIST INTO THURSDAY AS
HUMIDITIES COULD AGAIN DIP BELOW 40 PERCENT AT MANY LOCATIONS. PERIODIC
DISTURBANCES WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA THURSDAY INTO THE EARLY PORTION OF
NEXT WEEK YIELDING ONLY SCANT AMOUNTS OF PRECIPITATION AT BEST.
