Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
309 PM MDT Mon Aug 21 2017

.Discussion...

Monsoon moisture will continue to increase through mid-week, with
isolated to scattered thunderstorms across the district each
afternoon and evening. The main threat with thunderstorms will
be locally heavy rainfall with the potential for flash flooding
on area burn scars. Temperatures will fall to slightly below
average levels Tuesday, then remain around seasonal normals
through the end of the week.

Showers and thunderstorms will decrease on Friday, then a cold
front will increase the potential for rainfall again over
the southeast mountains and plains for next weekend
while the western mountains dry out.

Smoke dispersion will generally reach the good category on
Tuesday, with a few pockets of only fair along the I-25 corridor.
On Wednesday, afternoon dispersion will reach good or better
levels area-wide.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
