Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Montana
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
403 AM MDT Thu Oct 19 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING THIS AFTERNOON FOR LOW HUMIDITY...GUSTY WINDS
AND WARM TEMPERATURES ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH-CENTRAL MONTANA...

.DISCUSSION...

Southwest winds will increase today and become gusty this
afternoon with temperatures warming into the 70s at lower
elevations. Afternoon humidity in the teens at lower elevations
will combine with the gusty winds and mild temperatures to produce
critical fire weather conditions through early this evening, when
winds will begin to diminish. A Pacific cold front sweeps east
across the region on Friday, brining cooler temperatures, higher
humidity a chance for showers with winds shifting to the west by
afternoon.
