SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH
THURSDAY AND BRING ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS AT TIMES.
WHILE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MOST LIKELY OVER THE MOUNTAINS...THERE
IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF COASTAL THUNDERSTORMS. THERE WILL BE A CHANCE
OF DRY LIGHTNING STRIKES...WITH GREATEST THREAT IN THE COASTAL AND
VALLEY AREAS. THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE EAST OUT OF THE AREA
FRIDAY AND BRING AN END TO THE THUNDERSTORM THREAT.
OTHERWISE...TEMPERATURES WILL BE A LITTLE BELOW NORMAL THROUGH
THURSDAY...INCREASING TO NEAR NORMAL FRIDAY...WITH SLIGHT COOLING
OVER THE WEEKEND.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BY
WEDNESDAY AND REMAIN IN THE GENERAL AREA THROUGH THURSDAY OR
FRIDAY. THIS WILL RESULT IN RELATIVELY COOL AND MOIST CONDITIONS
WITH A RAPIDLY DEEPENING MARINE LAYER PUSHING DEEP INTO THE
MOUNTAINS. THIS MARINE LAYER PATTERN SHOULD PRODUCE AREAS OF
DRIZZLE OR SHOWERS...ESPECIALLY AROUND THE FOOTHILLS. THE AIR WILL
BECOME UNSTABLE ABOVE THE MARINE LAYER...WHICH COULD RESULT IN AN
AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORM IN THE MOUNTAINS THROUGH THURSDAY. A
DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE UP ON WEDNESDAY WHICH WILL BRING THE BEST
CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS ON WEDNESDAY...FIRST ANYWHERE IN LOS
ANGELES COUNTY IN THE MORNING...THEN JUST OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND
DESERTS IN THE AFTERNOON. IF THUNDERSTORMS FORM...DRY LIGHTNING
WILL BE A CONCERN ALONG WITH GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS. AFTER
THURSDAY...THERE IS A LOT OF UNCERTAINTY WITH THE WEATHER PATTERN.
THERE IS A VERY SMALL CHANCE THAT MOISTURE FROM TROPICAL STORM
LOWELL MOVES INTO THE AREA ON FRIDAY...BUT COMPUTER PROJECTIONS
ARE TRENDING TOWARD A DRIER AND WARMER OUTCOME TOWARD THE WEEKEND
AND INTO NEXT WEEK.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL DROP SOUTHWARD ALONG THE
CALIFORNIA COAST BRINGING A SLIGHT THREAT OF AFTERNOON
THUNDERSTORMS MAINLY OVER THE MOUNTAINS THROUGH WEDNESDAY. IN
ADDITION TEMPERATURES WILL COOL A FEW DEGREES ALONG WITH A SLIGHT
INCREASE IN HUMIDITIES. AN INCREASED ONSHORE FLOW WILL PROVIDE
SOME BREEZY TO GUSTY CONDITIONS THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT...ESPECIALLY
THROUGH AND BELOW MOUNTAIN PASSES. LIGHTER WINDS WILL PREVAIL THE
REMAINDER OF THE WEEK WITH LITTLE CHANGE IN TEMPERATURES AND
HUMIDITIES.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DROPPING DOWN THE WEST COAST
WILL ACT UPON MONSOON MOISTURE IN PLACE LEADING TO A CHANCE OF
THUNDERSTORMS OVER SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA...SOUTHERN NEVADA AND
NORTHWEST ARIZONA AT LEAST THROUGH WEDNESDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL
REMAIN SEVERAL DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY WILL DECREASE THIS EVENING ACROSS
SOUTH-CENTRAL ARIZONA AS DRIER AIR OVERSPREADS THE REGION. HOWEVER...THE
ATMOSPHERE WILL STILL HAVE ENOUGH MOISTURE TO WORK WITH WEDNESDAY...WITH
SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING HOURS
ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. WINDS WILL BE LIGHT...AND HUMIDITY VALUES
WILL REMAIN ELEVATED...WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES STAYING BELOW SEASONAL
NORMALS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
