...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

FLOOD POTENTIAL IS LOW FOR THE STATE OF ALASKA.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

A LARGE LOW PRESSURE SOUTH OF THE EASTERN ALEUTIANS WILL BRING
SEVERAL SMALL TROUGHS/SHORTWAVES INTO THE SOUTHERN REGIONS OF THE
STATE THIS WEEKEND INTO NEXT WEEK.  THIS WILL KEEP PERIODS OF
PRECIPITATION OVER SOUTHEAST ALASKA AND THE NORTH GULF COAST... AND
NEAR NORMAL TO WARMER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER MUCH OF THE
STATE.

...SNOW DEPTH...

OVER THE PAST WEEK SNOW DEPTHS DECREASED IN THE INTERIOR... ON THE
SOUTHERN SEWARD PENINSULA... AND AT SEVERAL SITES IN THE COPPER
RIVER VALLEY.  SNOW DEPTHS INCREASED OVER THE EASTERN KENAI
PENINSULA AND AT YAKUTAT.  SNOW WATER EQUIVALENTS ARE LESS THAN 50%
OF NORMAL ON THE KENAI PENINSULA AND LESS THAN 75% OF NORMAL OVER
SOUTHCENTRAL ALASKA... WHILE SNOW WATER EQUIVALENTS ARE GENERALLY
BETWEEN 75 AND 110% OF NORMAL NEAR FAIRBANKS.

...ICE THICKNESS...

ICE THICKNESS MEASURED NEAR THE BEGINNING OF MARCH INCLUDED: 20 TO
39 INCHES IN THE MIDDLE TANANA BASIN... 39 INCHES AT EAGLE ON THE
YUKON... 23 INCHES IN ANCHORAGE...  24 INCHES ON THE GULKANA RIVER
AT SOURDOUGH... 26 INCHES AT MCGRATH... 34 TO 35 INCHES ON THE LOWER
KUSKOKWIM... AND 62 INCHES AT COLVILLE VILLAGE.

...LONG RANGE...

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES OF ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER MOST OF THE STATE.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES FOR
ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER THE SOUTHERN TIER OF THE MAINLAND
AND OVER SOUTHEAST ALASKA.  THERE ARE INCREASED CHANCES FOR BELOW
NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER NORTHERN ALASKA.
