INTERIOR LOCATIONS SATURDAY...

AN UNUSUALLY STRONG HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WHICH HAS PERSISTED OVER
THE INTERIOR FOR SEVERAL DAYS BROUGHT RECORD BREAKING TEMPERATURES
TO A NUMBER OF LOCATIONS SATURDAY. HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURES
SATURDAY FOR SELECTED LOCATIONS ARE SUMMARIZED BELOW. TEMPERATURES
SUFFIXED WITH AN "R" INDICATE A NEW DAILY HIGH MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE
OR NEW DAILY HIGH MINIMUM TEMPERATURE RECORD SET.

MAY 25 1960. THE HIGH OF 82 DEGREES WAS ONE OF THE EARLIEST DAYS
ON RECORD WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80 OR ABOVE. THE EARLIEST DAY
WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80 OR ABOVE WAS MAY 9 1995.

IN THE MIDDLE TANANA VALLEY...HIGH TEMPERATURES OF 80 OR ABOVE WERE
REPORTED AT 22 SITES...WITH THE HIGHEST BEING 86 REPORTED AT A CO-OP
SITE IN THE FAIRBANKS AREA.

A SOUTHWARD MOVING COLD FRONT WILL BRING RELIEF FROM THE HEAT TODAY...
WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE FAIRBANKS AREA NOT EXPECTED TO GET MUCH
ABOVE 60 DEGREES. HIGH TEMPERATURES MONDAY IN THE FAIRBANKS AREA ARE
EXPECTED TO BE A FEW DEGREES COOLER THAN THOSE EXPECTED TODAY.
