PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ELKO NV
1002 PM PST THU JAN 1 2015

...ANNUAL 2014 CLIMATOLOGICAL SUMMARY FOR NORTHEASTERN AND
CENTRAL NEVADA...

2014 FEATURED UNUSUALLY STRONG RIDGES OF HIGH PRESSURE AND
OVERALL A MORE SOUTHERLY INFLUENCE ON THE WEATHER THAN NORMAL.
THIS RESULTED IN BELOW NORMAL WINTER PRECIPITATION AND SNOWFALL
AND ABOVE NORMAL SUMMER PRECIPITATION...ALONG WITH MUCH ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES. OVERALL...PRECIPITATION WAS FAIRLY CLOSE
TO NORMAL...BUT SNOWFALL WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL...AND THE
REPEATED WARMTH RESULTED IN ANNUAL AVERAGES WHICH NEARED OR
EXCEEDED ANNUAL RECORDS ACROSS THE AREA.

THE TABLES BELOW SUMMARIZE THE WEATHER AT FOUR OF OUR AIRPORT
CLIMATE SITES DURING THE PERIOD. TEMPERATURES ARE IN DEGREES
FAHRENHEIT...WHILE PRECIPITATION AND SNOWFALL IS IN INCHES.
