...River forecast points were well below flood stage this morning...

Heavy rainfall amounts from 2 to 8 inches occurred across portions
of the northern CSRA and western Midlands overnight. The heaviest
rain fell across northern McCormick...northern Edgefield and
western Saluda counties. The heavy rainfall will produce rapid
rises along Stevens Creek with the gage at Modoc approaching
flood stage of 19.0 feet.

A cold front will move very slowly across the region today
into Thursday. Additional scattered showers and thunderstorms
are expected this afternoon into tonight. Precipitation amounts
will range from around one quarter inch up to one half inch
through the period.

Most rivers will only experience minor fluctuations over
the next several days. However...Heavy rainfall overnight will
produce rapid rises along Stevens Creek throughout today and
tonight. Heavy rainfall early Tuesday morning across the upper
basin of the Great Pee Dee River and the lower basin of the
Yadkin River will produce modest rises along the Pee Dee River
at Cheraw.
