DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
1001 AM EDT SUN MAY 24 2015

...All river forecast points expected to remain well below flood stage...

Surface high pressure to our northeast has shifted offshore...bringing
with it a return to onshore flow into the region. Beginning Monday...the
moist east to southeast low level flow combined with upper level disturbances
riding up the back of the ridge aloft will produce a slight chance for
isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the Piedmont, Northwest
Midlands and the CSRA. This pattern will continue into the middle of next
week. Rainfall amounts will be spotty and limited as any activity will
struggle to break through the cap provided by the ridge of high pressure
aloft extending in from the east. Deeper Gulf of Mexico moisture will
remain well off to the west of our region. Only minor fluctuations in
river levels are expected from dam releases for hydroelectric power
generation.
