DAILY RIVER AND LAKE SUMMARY
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
1149 AM EDT SAT JUL 30 2016

...River forecast points were well below flood stage this morning...

A broad upper-level trough of low pressure centered over the
Mississippi Valley will push farther south and east through
Monday...suppressing the persistent ridge of high pressure.
As a result...atmospheric moisture will increase and support
a somewhat better chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms
each day.

At the surface...a weak area of low pressure will extend down
over the forecast area from the north. Rainfall today will
remain very sparse with only widely scattered shower activity.
On Sunday and Monday...daily amounts will generally be less than
one-half inch. Any higher amounts will be isolated.

Overall...minor stage fluctuations will continue on area rivers
through Monday...due primarily to hydro power generation and
corresponding releases from upstream reservoirs.
