THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO
11 PM MST THURSDAY.

* AFFECTED AREA...THE GREAT SALT LAKE DESERT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...NEW SNOW AMOUNTS OF GENERALLY 2 TO 4
  INCHES ARE EXPECTED.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN ACROSS THE NORTHWEST DESERTS LATE
  TONIGHT AND WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES THROUGH THE DAY THURSDAY
  BEFORE TAPERING OFF THURSDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...PERSISTENT COLD TEMPERATURES ACROSS THIS AREA WILL
  ALLOW SNOW TO STICK TO ROADS RIGHT FROM THE ONSET. SNOWY ROADS
  WILL IMPACT TRAVEL ACROSS THE SALT FLATS ALONG I-80 AS WELL AS
  ALONG I-84 BETWEEN TREMONTON AND THE IDAHO BORDER.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW

THURSDAY TO 5 AM MST FRIDAY.

* AFFECTED AREA...THE VALLEYS OF WEST CENTRAL UTAH.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL AMOUNTS OF GENERALLY 2 TO 4 INCHES
  ARE EXPECTED.

* TIMING...RAIN AND SNOW WILL BEGIN ACROSS WEST CENTRAL UTAH LATE
  TONIGHT AND WILL SWITCH OVER TO ALL SNOW THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE
  SNOW WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES INTO THURSDAY NIGHT BEFORE TAPERING
  OFF AFTER MIDNIGHT.

* IMPACTS...SOME OF THE WEST CENTRAL VALLEYS THAT HAVE COLD AIR
  TRAPPED WILL SEE TRAVEL IMPACTS FROM SNOW RIGHT FROM THE START.
  WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL BECOME MORE WIDESPREAD ACROSS
  THIS AREA LATE THURSDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT INCLUDING I-15
  NEAR FILLMORE AND US-50 THROUGH DELTA WEST TO THE NEVADA BORDER.

* AFFECTED AREA...THE WASATCH PLATEAU SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE
  CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...NEW SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 4 TO 8
  INCHES ALONG THE WASATCH PLATEAU TO 6 TO 12 INCHES ACROSS THE
  SOUTHWEST PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS.

* TIMING...SNOW WILL BEGIN ACROSS THESE MOUNTAIN AREAS AROUND
  DAYBREAK THURSDAY AND WILL CONTINUE AT TIMES INTO THURSDAY
  NIGHT BEFORE TAPERING OFF AFTER MIDNIGHT.

* IMPACTS...WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS WILL IMPACT TRAVEL ACROSS
  ALL MOUNTAIN ROUTES IN THESE AREAS INCLUDING US-6 OVER SOLDIER
  SUMMIT...I-70 BETWEEN COVE FORT AND FREMONT JUNCTION AND THE
  HIGHER PASSES ALONG I-15 SOUTH OF FILLMORE.
