Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Tonight, Lake Superior is under weak surface ridging
of 29.8 inches relative to a 29.7 inch low pressure over southern
Ontario and a 29.4 inch low over far northwestern Ontario. As the
southern low dissipates Sunday, the northwestern low will weaken
slightly as it moves north of Lake Superior at 29.5 inches. The
low will slowly shift east, weakening to 29.6 inches over James
Bay Monday morning. Tuesday into Wednesday, high pressure of 30.1
inches slowly builds over northern Ontario as lows of 29.7 inches
move over the Dakotas and Virginias respectively. By late
Thursday, the low over the Daktoas will approach the Upper Great
Lakes, maintaining pressure at 29.7 inches.
