FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR S CENTRAL NE AND N CENTRAL KS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE
456 AM CDT SUN OCT 19 2014

.DISCUSSION...

TODAY...MOST AREAS WILL SEE A SOUTHWEST WIND THROUGH MOST OF THE
DAY...WITH THE EXCEPTION BEING OUR FAR WESTERN COUNTIES OF DAWSON
TO FURNAS COUNTY WHERE A TROUGH AXIS WILL RESULT IN LIGHT AND
VARIABLE WINDS BY THIS AFTERNOON. THESE LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS
WILL WORK EAST WITH THE TROUGH AXIS. BY 5 OR 6 PM MANY AREAS WEST
OF HWY 281 WILL BE EXPERIENCING THE LIGHT AND VARIABLE WIND
ASSOCIATED WITH THE SFC TROUGH AXIS. THE WIND COULD EVEN BECOME
NORTHWEST BY LATE AFTERNOON ACROSS OUR FAR WESTERN ZONES BEHIND
THE SFC TROUGH. IT WILL BE A DRY DAY.

MONDAY...A SFC HIGH WILL SLIDE EAST ACROSS THE AREA RESULTING IN
LIGHT AND VARIABLE WINDS DURING THE MORNING. THE WIND WILL REMAIN
LIGHT THROUGH THE DAY...BUT SHOULD BECOME SOUTHEAST BY AFTERNOON
AS THE SFC HIGH SLIDES EAST OF THE AREA.
