540 AM CDT TUE AUG 26 2014

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA AND
PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

ALTHOUGH AT LEAST A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS PERSISTS
ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA TODAY...THE HIGHEST STORM CHANCES AND
GREATEST COVERAGE SHOULD AGAIN FOCUS DURING THE EVENING AND
OVERNIGHT HOURS. THOUGH WIDESPREAD SEVERE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS
NOT ANTICIPATED...AT LEAST A FEW STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE
POSSIBLE MAINLY THIS EVENING...WITH THE MAIN THREATS BEING HAIL
UP TO AROUND PING PONG BALL SIZE AND WIND GUSTS UP TO AROUND 60
MPH.

IN ADDITION...LIMITED PORTIONS OF THE AREA COULD RECEIVE HEAVY
RAINFALL OF AT LEAST 2 TO 3 INCHES THROUGH TONIGHT. ALTHOUGH
WIDESPREAD FLOODING ISSUES ARE NOT EXPECTED...AT LEAST MINOR
FLOODING OF LOW-LYING AREAS AND SMALL STREAMS CANNOT BE RULED
OUT. A SOMEWHAT ENHANCED RISK OF FLOODING COULD TARGET THE YORK
COUNTY NEBRASKA AREA IF MORE HEAVY RAIN ENDS UP FALLING OVER THE
SAME LOCATIONS THAT JUST RECEIVED SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL ON MONDAY
NIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY.

IN AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN...THUNDERSTORMS ARE FORECAST EACH DAY
THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT. THE STORMS WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING
SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF TWO INCHES...WHICH MAY
LEAD TO AREAS OF FLOODING. STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE ALSO
POSSIBLE WHICH MAY PRODUCE HAIL TO THE SIZE OF PING PONG BALLS AND
DAMAGING WINDS OF 60 MPH. THE FORECAST DRIES OUT FOR MUCH OF THE
WEEKEND...BEFORE CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS RETURN AROUND THE
LABOR DAY TIME FRAME.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION FOR LOCALIZED SEVERE STORMS MAY BE NEEDED ON A
LIMITED BASIS MAINLY DURING THE EVENING HOURS. IN ADDITION...ANY
REPORTS OF FLOODING OR HEAVY RAINFALL IN EXCESS OF 2 INCHES WOULD
BE APPRECIATED.
