A powerful storm system will impact the districts the next several days. Expect an extended period of strong wind, cooler temps and precipitation. Periods of accumulating snowfall are expected in the high country with over a foot of wet snow by mid week. Lower elevations will see mainly rainfall with the eastern districts (Yellowstone east including Sioux Ranger, Custer, Ashland Ranger) up to 1-2 inches of liquid precipitation through midweek (probability 50-80% >1.00 inches). The weather system will gradually exit to the southeast later in the work week with warmer and drier conditions by next weekend.
