.DISCUSSION...
No significant fire weather concerns are expected in the region
through Saturday. Widespread rainfall and thunderstorm activity
are expected along and south Interstate 20 this morning. Rainfall
totals between 0.10 and 1.50 inches are likely, with the highest
totals occurring south of Macon. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms
could occur in central Georgia. A drier airmass will begin to move
into the region this afternoon. By Saturday, minimum relative
humidity values should fall into the 30 to 40 percent range.
Northwest winds will develop in the region today and linger through
Saturday. Peak gusts between 25 and 35 mph are expected this
afternoon. For Saturday winds gusts will decline some, expected
peak gusts between 20 and 25 mph. Mixing heights and transport
winds should be good today and Saturday.
