...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM MST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS ISSUED A DENSE
FOG ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM MST THURSDAY.

* TIMING...AREAS OF DENSE FREEZING FOG WILL CONTINUE THIS EVENING
  THROUGH 8 AM MDT THURSDAY MORNING.

* VISIBILITY...LESS THAN 1/4 MILE IN SOME AREAS...ESPECIALLY IN
  AND AROUND CORTEZ AND BLANDING...AND ALONG ALL STATE HIGHWAYS
  AND OTHER ROADWAYS ACROSS THE ADVISED AREA.

* IMPACTS...FREEZING FOG WILL CAUSE WIDESPREAD VISIBILITY LESS
  THAN 1/2 MILE WITH SOME AREAS HAVING VERY LOW VISIBILITY LESS
  THAN 1/4 MILE...MAKING DRIVING VERY DIFFICULT.

  THE FREEZING FOG ALONG WITH PATCHES OF FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL
  CAUSE ROAD SURFACES TO ICE OVER. THIS TYPE OF ICING IS OFTEN
  REFERRED TO AS BLACK ICE AND IS VERY HARD TO DETECT WHILE
  DRIVING. BE VERY CAUTIOUS WHILE DRIVING. REDUCE SPEED AND
  MAINTAIN EXTRA DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE
REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. IF DRIVING...SLOW DOWN...
USE YOUR HEADLIGHTS...AND LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE AHEAD OF YOU.
