A PACIFIC STORM SYSTEM HAS EFFECTED WESTERN COLORADO AND EASTERN
UTAH THIS EVENING WITH RAIN AND SNOW. SNOW LEVELS APPEAR TO BE
AROUND 5000 FEET.

HEAVY SNOW HAS FALLEN OVER THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS EARLY THIS
EVENING. HEAVY BANDING OF SNOW IN THE SAN JUANS HAS PRODUCED 6
INCHES OF SNOWFALL IN TWO HOURS AT RED MOUNTAIN PASS. PRELIMINARY
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS BASED ON AUTOMATED SENSORS INDICATE ESTIMATED
VALUES OF 5 TO 10 INCHES IN THE SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS, WITH LESSER
AMOUNTS IN THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN MOUNTAINS
