Snow began falling Friday afternoon across the higher elevations
of eastern Utah and western Colorado as the latest weather
system began to impact the region.  Snow continued to fall
overnight into Saturday morning. Following are preliminary
reports of 24 hour snowfall produced by the system.

Instruments scattered through the mountains, providing estimated
snowfall amounts, indicated that the heavier snow favored the
mountains of west central and southwest Colorado. The estimated
new snowfall amounts were quite variable, but generally:
     west central mountains...up to 4 inches,
                              with 8 inches at Porphyry Creek
     southwest mountains......up to 6 inches,
                              with 11 inches at Beartown.
