...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MST
TUESDAY NIGHT...

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE...Crested Butte, Taylor Park, Marble,
  Telluride, Ouray, Lake City, Silverton, Rico, and Hesperus.

* Timing...Snow will become widespread and lower in elevation
throughout the day. Snow, heavy at times, will then continue
into Tuesday evening.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...12 to 18 inches.

* WINDS...Southwest at 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph
  above 9500 feet today through Tuesday morning. Winds gradually
  turn westerly then northwest and decrease Tuesday afternoon.

* VISIBILITY...Less than one half mile in moderate to heavy snow
  and blowing snow.

* IMPACTS...Heavy snowfall and strong winds will create
  hazardous driving conditions. Mountain roadways will be icy
  and/or snowpacked at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

TO 5 PM MST TUESDAY...

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE...Durango, Bayfield, Ignacio, and Pagosa
  Springs.

* TIMING...Scattered snow showers and a mix of rain and snow are
  expected this afternoon, transitioning to heavy wet snow this
  evening continuing through noon Tuesday.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...6 to 12 inches.

* WINDS...Southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* VISIBILITY...Less than one mile at times in moderate to heavy
  snow.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
  may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
  snow on tree limbs and power lines.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* TIMING...Snow will begin this afternoon. Snow accumulations
  will be greatest this evening when a heavy band of snow is
  expected to pass through the area.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...5 to 10 inches with locally higher amounts.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph becoming northwest this evening.
  Gusts up to 50 mph are possible.

* VISIBILITY...Less than a mile at times in moderate snow and
  blowing snow.

* IMPACTS...Moderate snowfall and strong winds will create
  hazardous driving conditions. Mountain roadways will be icy
  and/or snowpacked at times.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...2 to 6 inches above 6000 feet. Heavier
amounts are possible at higher locations in Mesa Verde National
Park.

* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

  blowing snow.
