...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has cancelled the
Winter Weather Advisory.

The threat of impacts from significant snow is ending over the
Grand and Battlement Mesas allowing the advisory to be cancelled
early. There will be periods of snow showers through the sunset
but temperatures and sunshine will allow much of this new snowfall
to melt as it falls.

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT
TONIGHT...

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE...Columbine, Hahns Peak, Toponas, Buford,
  and Trappers Lake.

* TIMING...Snow showers will continue through midnight...with
  moderate to heavy rates at times through sunset.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...8 to 14 inches.

* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* VISIBILITY...Reduced to less than 1/2 mile at times in
  moderate to heavy snow showers.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
  may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
  snow on tree limbs and power lines.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

* TIMING...Snow showers will continue through midnight...
  moderate to heavy at times.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...6 to 10 inches.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* VISIBILITY...Reduced to under a mile at times in moderate snow.

* IMPACTS...The heavy snow will make many roads impassable and
  may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
  snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
  blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power outages.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and/or
blowing snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while
driving.

  showers.

  may produce widespread power outages due to the weight of the
  snow on tree limbs and power lines. Strong winds will lead to
  blowing snow, reduced visibility, and additional power outages.
