...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT FRIDAY ABOVE
10000 FEET...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS ISSUED A
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ABOVE 10000 FEET FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM MDT FRIDAY.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE VAIL...MONARCH AND INDEPENDENCE PASSES.

* TIMING...SNOW SHOWERS WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON...AND THEN
  PERSIST OVERNIGHT. THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED LATE THIS
  AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS EVENING. THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE
  THROUGH THIS EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...2 TO 6 INCHES.

* SNOW LEVEL...ACCUMULATING SNOW ABOVE 10000 FEET.

* WINDS...THUNDERSTORMS MAY AT TIMES PRODUCE ERRATIC WIND GUSTS
  TO 25 MPH THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING.

* VISIBILITY...REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE MILE AT TIMES IN THE
  HEAVIER SHOWERS.

* IMPACTS...ROADS MAY BECOME SLUSHY AT TIMES THROUGH EARLY THIS
  EVENING. THEN ICY AND SNOWPACKED CONDITIONS WILL BE POSSIBLE
  LATE THIS EVENING AND OVERNIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW AND/OR
BLOWING SNOW WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR
SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
