...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1981, a heavy snowstorm pummeled the area as snows of up to
24 inches were recorded. East winds of 15 to 30 mph came with the
snow. 11.5 inches of snow fell at Goodland, which is the highest
24 hour total for the month of March ever recorded at that location.
This storm arrived just a month and a half after a January storm
brought a foot of snow to the area.

In 2000, farm equipment storage building and shed were destroyed
from straight line winds 4 miles southwest of Weskan in Wallace
County Kansas.
