The island of Oahu in Honolulu County * Until 145 PM HST. * At 1024 AM HST, radar indicated that heavy rain remained nearly stationary over the Koolau mountains. New areas of heavy rainfall have recently developed over the area from Ahuimanu to Kaneohe to Waimanalo, while also continuing near Kahana. Rain gages indicate occasional bursts of torrential rainfall, with rain rates in excess of 2 inches per hour falling over already soaked soils. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding in drainages, streams, rivers, roads, properties, and other low-lying areas. Public road closures possible in some areas. Landslides are possible in steep terrain. Remember flash flooding can occur well downstream from the mountains. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Waikane, Waiahole, Kaaawa, Kahaluu, Punaluu, Ahuimanu, Hauula,Kaneohe, Laie, Kaneohe Marine Base, Maunawili, Kahuku, Kailua and Waimanalo. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
