The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal waters from High Island to Freeport TX out 20 NM...
  Galveston Bay...
  Waters from High Island to Freeport TX from 20 to 60 NM...

* Until 300 AM CDT.

* At 226 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from near North Jetty to 6 nm north of Galveston A8,
  moving southeast at 45 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater and large hail.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in
           structural damage.

* Locations impacted include...
  East Galveston Bay, Tabs Buoy F, Heald Bank, High Island A23,
  Galveston Bay Entrance, Buoy 42035, Galveston 256, North Jetty,
  High Island A109, Galveston 150, High Island 157, Rollover Pass,
  High Island 63, High Island A179, High Island A61, High Island A80,
  High Island 208, and Galveston Ship Channel.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.
