.DISCUSSION...

Widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms will spread eastward across
central and southeast Illinois during mid and late afternoon and diminish from
the west during mid to late evening. Strong to severe storms are possible
southeast of the IL river. Rainfall amounts between a half and three quarter
inches are expected by midnight. Dry and cooler weather will return Friday
through Monday. Ventilation rates will be good this afternoon, and good to
very good Friday and Saturday with breezy northwest winds behind the cold front.
