The Pittsburgh PA climate summary for the month  of March, 2024.  The maximum
temperature for the period was 75.  The record maximum temperature is 84
degrees which was set in 1929.  The minimum temperature for the period was 22.
The record minimum temperature is -5 degrees which was set in 2015.  The
average temperature was 46.6 degrees which is 6.9 degrees above the normal
average temperature of 39.7 degrees.  The maximum temperature did not exceed 90
degrees.  The minimum temperature dropped below 32 degrees on 12 days this
period.  A total of 3.81 inches of precipitation fell during the period which
is 0.66 inches above the normal amount of 3.15.  A total of 0.5 inches snow
fell during the period which is 7.1 inches below the normal amount of 7.6.
There were 564 heating degree days this period which is 221 below the normal
