.SHORT TERM...
(This evening through Tuesday Night)
Issued at 257 PM CDT Mon Mar 25 2024

By 00Z this evening, the primary line of severe thunderstorms will
be tracking east out of the ArkLaTex, leaving clearing skies and
gusty shifting winds in its wake. Behind the frontal passage,
temperatures will drop into the middle 30s along and north of the I-
30 corridor, and into the 40s south and east. A few lingering
showers may be possible across extreme southeast Oklahoma, but look
to quickly depart as the evening continues.

Tuesday will see the beginning of a prolonged stretch of quieter
weather that looks to continue for much of the coming week. Under
mostly clear skies, temperatures will climb only into the upper 50s
north to upper 60s south, while breezy northwest winds sustain cold
air advection behind the departing system responsible for today`s
activity. Wednesday morning looks to bring the coolest temperatures
of the week, as some sites north of I-30 look to drop to just above
freezing, with lows ranging through the low to mid 40s further
south.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through next Sunday)
Issued at 257 PM CDT Mon Mar 25 2024

Wednesday will continue to be quiet and initiate gradual warming
trend as the upper level trough passes across the deep south and
allows upper level ridging to build in behind it, with highs
reaching the 60s again before climbing back into the 70s Thursday
and pushing into the 80s again by the weekend. Lows will accordingly
climb back into the 50s and eventually 60s through the long term
forecast period. Aside from a weak impulse of energy which may stir
up some showers across portions of east Texas wednesday evening, our
marathon of quiet conditions looks to continue through the remainder
of the work week and into the weekend. The next noteworthy chance of
rainfall does not look to impact the ArkLaTex until the beginning of
April.

.AVIATION...
(00Z TAFS)
Issued at 652 PM CDT Mon Mar 25 2024

For the 26/00Z TAF period, VFR conditions have moved into the TAF
sites as convection is starting to exit the region. Can`t rule out
some brief showers at KMLU/KELD over the next several hours, with
MVFR ceilings and possibly some brief BR/FG developing later this
evening before the front moves across those sites. A line of
showers and thunderstorms will develop along the front north of
I-30 as it moves through the area. This could bring some brief
convection to KTXK this evening. The cold front will gradually
shift eastward through the region during the late evening and
early overnight period. VFR conditions will prevail, with a period
of mid-level clouds moving over the region before early to mid-
morning Tuesday. Expect mostly SKC conditions through the latter
half of the period as NW winds near 10kts in wake of the front
will bring in cooler and drier air into our airspace.
