Northwest Louisiana...East Texas...and Extreme Southeast Oklahoma National Weather Service Shreveport LA 311 PM CDT Tue May 7 2024 .DISCUSSION... Very warm and humid conditions will continue the next couple of days, with the remnants of the dryline which has become stationary across extreme Southeast Oklahoma and Western Louisiana expected to lift back north and wash out tonight. Some isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible late this evening and overnight across portions of extreme Northeast Texas and Southeast Oklahoma, before shifting northeast out of the area late. Additional showers and thunderstorms should again develop Wednesday afternoon and evening over Northeast Texas, Southeast Oklahoma, and Southwest Arkansas ahead of an approaching weak cold front, and persist through portions of the overnight hours before diminishing late. Some storms may become severe Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the front expected to drift south to near or just south of the I-20 corridor of East Texas and North Louisiana Thursday. The front will again focus more shower and thunderstorm development over the region Thursday afternoon and evening, before diminishing late. Slightly cooler but drier conditions are expected Friday through the upcoming weekend, before isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms return early next week.
