Hydrologic Outlook
National Weather Service Great Falls MT
1014 AM MDT Tue May 7 2024

A moisture rich spring weather system will bring prolonged periods
of lower elevation rain and mountain snow to much of Central and
North-central Montana through early Thursday. Widespread additional
rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected at lower elevations, with up
to 4 inches in the mountains.

While impactful flooding is generally not expected, some rivers,
creeks, and streams along the Canadian border in Hill and Blaine
Counties are expected to go above bankful, resulting in minor
flooding.

Anyone near waterways should remain alert for changing conditions
and be prepared to seek higher ground should water rises occur.
Travelers should anticipate wet roads and the potential for
hydroplaning due to ponding of water on area roadways.
