JULY BEGAN WITH SOME WARM, HUMID SUMMER-LIKE WEATHER, BUT GRADUALLY
A COOLER, DRIER AIR MASS BEGAN MOVING IN JUST IN TIME FOR
INDEPENDENCE DAY. JUST AS THE WEATHER BEGAN TO HEAT UP AGAIN A COLD
FRONT BROUGHT COOLER AIR ON JULY 13 WHICH LASTED FOR A FEW DAYS. THE
MOST ENDURING WARMTH OCCURRED IN MID JULY WHEN 6 OUT OF 7 DAYS
TOPPED 80 DEGREES FROM JULY 16 THRU 22. BUT A COLD FRONT BROUGHT A
RETURN TO COOLER WEATHER ON THE 23RD WITH THE COOL CONDITIONS
LASTING THROUGH MUCH OF THE REST OF THE MONTH.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 69.3 DEGREES WHICH WAS 0.2
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE COOLEST JULY WAS IN 1962 WHEN THE AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE WAS 64.7 DEGREES. THE WARMEST WAS 75.0 DEGREES IN 1952.

A TOTAL OF 1.53 INCHES OF RAIN FELL WHICH WAS 1.89 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL. THE HEAVIEST RAIN FELL ON THE FIRST WHEN MORE THAN HALF AN
INCH WAS RECORDED. THE DRIEST JULY ON RECORD WAS IN 1989 WHEN ONLY
0.45 INCHES WAS OBSERVED. THE WETTEST WAS IN 1996 WHEN 8.67 INCHES
