MARSHALL AIRPORT...

THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL. MONTHLY
PRECIPITATION WAS ABOVE NORMAL.

THIS WAS THE FIRST COOLER THAN NORMAL MONTH SINCE MAY OF 2016,
BREAKING A STREAK OF 11 CONSECUTIVE NEAR TO WARMER THAN NORMAL
MONTHS.

THE TEMPERATURE REACHED OR EXCEEDED 90 DEGREES ON THE 17TH...18TH
AND 19TH. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE THE 7TH...8TH AND 9TH IN
2000 THAT AT LEAST THREE CONSECUTIVE DAYS IN MAY REACHED OR EXCEEDED
90 DEGREES (ALTHOUGH IT DID HAPPEN IN APRIL IN 2009 ON THE
25TH...26TH AND 27TH).

A RECORD DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE OF 36 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE
9TH...TYING THE RECORD PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1966.

A RECORD DAILY HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 93 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE
17TH...TYING THE RECORD PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1896.

A RECORD DAILY WARM LOW TEMPERATURE OF 70 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE
18TH...BREAKING THE RECORD OF 68 PREVIOUSLY SET IN 1900 AND 1896.

CLIMATE RECORDS FOR THE BALTIMORE MD AREA HAVE BEEN KEPT AT
BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT SINCE
1950. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE RECORDS OBSERVED DOWNTOWN EXTEND BACK
TO JULY OF 1872. PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF
1871. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN MARCH OF 1892.
