FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE AUGUST 2016, MARATHON AIRPORT OBSERVED
BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES, COMING IN WITH AN AVERAGE TEMPERATURE OF
84.7F, OR 0.1F BELOW NORMAL. THIS ALSO RANKS AS THE 9TH WARMEST JUNE
ON RECORD. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE OF THE MONTH WAS 92F WAS OBSERVED
ON JUNE 29TH & 30TH. YEAR TO DATE (6/30/17), WITH AN AVERAGE
TEMPERATURE OF 79.1F, IT IS THE WARMEST START TO THE CALENDAR YEAR
ON RECORD, BESTING WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD (2015) BY 1.0F.

THE RAINFALL TOTAL FOR THE MONTH WAS 6.67", WHICH IS 1.06" ABOVE
NORMAL. HOWEVER, THE MAJORITY OF THIS RAIN FELL ON JUNE 7TH WHEN
4.24" WAS OBSERVED. THIS WAS THE WETTEST DAILY RAINFALL TOTAL SINCE
OCTOBER 20TH 2014 WHEN 4.33" FELL. THE MONTH OF JUNE RANKED AS THE
5TH WETTEST ON RECORD. THROUGH JUNE 30TH, MARATHON HAS RECEIVED
12.83", FALLING WELL BEHIND THE NORMAL TOTAL RAINFALL OF 17.55",
RESULTING IN A DEFICIT OF 4.72". RAINFALL AND TEMPERATURE NORMALS
(1981-2010) FOR MARATHON ARE COMPRISED OF DATA COLLECTED FROM DUCK
KEY AND THE MARATHON AIRPORT SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1998.
