watch for these river locations in North Dakota...

  * Grafton...on the Park River...in Walsh County

. Warm temperatures are forecast over the Park River Basin starting
this weekend and will persist. High temperatures are expected to be
well above freezing during this period with low temperatures near

There is uncertainty regarding the timing of the release of the
water in the lower basin which is frozen in the drainage network.
Once the soil warms up and the ice melts, the water may run off
more rapidly. Ice jams are common at this location and can cause
rapid rises.

The river forecast beyond 7 days show a crest range of 14 to 16
feet around April 1 due to uncertainty of release rate of water
into the river. The crest forecast may change due to varying
weather conditions.

As river levels rise over the coming days, flood warnings and more
information should be expected for the Park River forecast points.

Those with interests along the Park River should be prepared for
rising river levels.
