FLOOD STATEMENT

For the Lower Humboldt, including Battle Mountain...Comus,
Minor to Moderate flooding is occurring and is expected
to continue.

...The Humboldt River at Battle Mountain is holding steady
or rising slightly. This should continue today, with an
eventual drop thereafter. At Comus, the river was
receding, but since has held steady or risen slightly. At
Winnemucca, the river was still rising as of Friday. The
river will hold steady or rise slightly through the
weekend. The river will also continue to rise downstream of
Winnemucca through the weekend and into early next week....

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Humboldt River At Battle Mountain.
* until further notice.
* At  2:15 AM Saturday the stage was 10.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 10.4 feet
  by early tomorrow.
* Impact...at 10.5 feet...Moderate lowland flooding throughout reach,
  with a number of rural roads impassable. No homes or basements
  flooded. Livestock stranding and miring begins to be a problem.
  3400 cfs, about a 5 year flood, 20 percent chance any year.

* At  2:15 AM Saturday the stage was 10.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will remain near 10.5 feet
* Impact...at 10.5 feet...Moderate lowland flooding throughout reach,
  with some rural roads flooded. Minor flooding in lower parts of
  Winnemucca with sewer backups, main area impacted is between UPRR
  and second street beneath I80. Property damage in Winnemucca is
  minimal. 3200 cfs, about a 10 year flood, 10 percent chance any
  year. Similar to floods of Feb 1986, June 1995, and May 1998.
