FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
331 AM EDT TUE SEP 30 2014

.DISCUSSION...A WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL PROVIDE POOR DISPERSION
EARLY THIS MORNING...WITH GOOD LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE PRESENT. FOR THE
MOST PART...CONSIDERABLE CLOUDINESS WILL HELP INHIBIT WIDESPREAD
FOG DEVELOPMENT EARLY THIS MORNING...BUT PATCHY DENSE FOG MAY STILL
DEVELOP IN RELATIVELY CLOUD-FREE AREAS.

WITH THE LOW PRESSURE MOVING SLOWLY EAST AWAY FROM THE COAST TODAY...
HIGH PRESSURE WILL BEGIN SUPPLYING DRIER AIR FROM THE NORTHWEST
BY MID- TO LATE MORNING. AS A RESULT...CLOUDS WILL STEADILY ERODE FROM
WEST TO EAST THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. SURFACE AND TRANSPORT WINDS WILL
BE VARIABLE AND GENERALLY LESS THAN 10 MPH. AFTERNOON MAXIMUM MIXING
HEIGHTS WILL RANGE FROM 3000 TO 3500 FEET...WITH MINIMUM RELATIVE
HUMIDITIES GENERALLY 50 TO 55 PERCENT.
