Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
316 PM EST Sun Dec 17 2017

.DISCUSSION...High pressure is now offshore, with a series of
upper level systems approaching. Southwest to westerly flow
will bring warmer and more moist air into the region. Spotty
rainfall is possible tonight especially in the CSRA and W.
Midlands. Most of any rain will evaporate overnight as it
falls through a still-dry airmass. Tuesday into Wednesday
a warm front stalls over the region and a passing upper
level low sharply increases rainfall amounts through the
region. With poor dispersion and increased moisture beneath
the evening inversion, fog potential is moderate especially
in the CSRA and S. Midlands.
