Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
246 PM CST Wed Dec 13 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Moisture will increase overnight as southerly surface flows
persists across the region. A dry cold front will then pass
through the TN Valley early Thursday morning, with northerly flow
returning the area during the day. Despite some slightly drier
air filtering in, dewpoints will still be higher than those
observed today and minimum RH values will rise above 40 percent
Thursday and Friday afternoon. Mixing heights will rise to between
3500 and 4000 feet during the afternoon hours on Thursday and
Friday. This will combine with transport winds between 5 and 10
mph to produce fair dispersion conditions. Similar conditions can
be expected on Saturday. The next chance for widespread wetting
rains will be on Sunday, as a cold front moves through the region.

Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Minimum RH values currently
between 20 and 30 percent will rise above 40 percent by Thursday.
Meanwhile, 20 foot winds will decrease. Therefore, no fire weather
concerns are anticipated Thursday and Friday.
