Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
226 PM CDT Thu Jun 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...

Periods of rain, heavy at times, will continue to push across
northern Alabama through the next couple of days, as Tropical
Depression Cindy moves to the northeast. An additional 1 to 2
inches of rain is expected through Saturday, with locally higher
amounts possible. There will be a break in the widespread
precipitation beginning late this afternoon and continuing through
the overnight hours. More rainfall is expected to move eastward
across the area on Friday. This will continue through Saturday as
Tropical Depression Cindy weakens, and the remnants move northeast
of the area. Given the amount of rainfall that has already
occurred, up to 2 inches across east Alabama, localized flooding
is possible.

Rain will finally exit the area beginning late Saturday as a cold
front approaches the area. This front will move from the north to
the south and exit northern Alabama late in the weekend. This
will bring dry conditions across much of the area for the
beginning of next week.

Fog potential over the next few days: Given then abundance of
moisture, if winds weaken overnight and the rain diminishes,
patchy fog is possible early Friday morning and again on Saturday.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
