Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
605 AM EDT Thu Jul 20 2017

.DISCUSSION...High pressure and upper level ridging will be on tap
again for today, with temperatures nearing 90 degrees in the
afternoon and min RH values generally in the 40 percent range.
This pattern will begin to break down by tomorrow, however, as a
cold front begins to approach the region from the north. Winds
will become more S to SW, pulling warm and moist air into the
state. Temperatures will exceed 90 degrees by the afternoon, with
added humidity making it feel closer to 100 to 105 degrees.
Furthermore, shower and thunderstorm chances will arise throughout
the day, especially in the far northern portion of the state, and
in the far SE along the high terrain. Shower and thunderstorm
chances, along with hot and humid conditions, will continue
through the weekend as well. Winds should remain light and
variable today, gradually picking up as we head into the weekend.
