Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Wrn Montana and N Cntrl Idaho
National Weather Service Missoula MT
410 PM MDT THU JUL 2 2015

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST MONTANA/WEST
CENTRAL/SOUTHWEST MONTANA FORESTS...

.DISCUSSION...

Idaho: Conditions will remain hot and dry through Saturday.
Terrain will remain warm day and night. High pressure will break
down on Sunday, with ridge winds shifting to the east across the
forests. Day and night humidity will be relatively higher Monday
through Thursday next week. There is only a slight chance of
precipitation next Wednesday, but will be concentrated over high
terrain along the Montana/Idaho border. Otherwise, conditions on
the ground with remain quite dry.

Montana: Hot temperatures and low humidity will remain the story
through Saturday. Afternoon breezes will also be present. POSSIBLE
RED FLAG CONDTIONS will develop across portions of western
Montana forests on Saturday, as a cold front moves south over the
area. Strong wind gusts combined with low humidity will peak
Saturday afternoon. Lightning associated with the cold front
passing will also be a threat. Any wetting rain that occurs is
most likely over the high terrain. A cooler and higher humidity
northwest flow will be present Sunday through next Thursday, with
ridge winds shifting to the east. The next chance for any wetting
rains will be Wednesday next week, with the best chances for
northwest Montana, particularly near Glacier Park, and along the
Continental Divide southward to southwest Montana.
