FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EASTERN WASHINGTON AND NORTH IDAHO
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SPOKANE WA
226 PM PDT SUN MAY 24 2015

.DISCUSSION...

A COLD FRONT AND LOW PRESSURE MOVES INTO THE DISTRICTS THROUGH THE
FIRST PART OF THE WEEK. EXPECT SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
EACH AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THEY WILL BE MOST NUMEROUS MONDAY AND
TUESDAY AND AROUND THE MOUNTAIN AND NORTHERN DISTRICTS. SOME
LOCALLY HEAVY DOWNPOURS AND SCATTERED TO LOCALIZED NUMEROUS
LIGHTNING STRIKES ARE POSSIBLE IN STRONGER STORMS. TEMPERATURES
COOL TOWARD SEASONAL NORMS THROUGH TUESDAY TOO. MODELS THEN SHOW
THE LOW MOVES OUT AND A WEST-SOUTHWEST GRADUALLY DEVELOPS THURSDAY
INTO NEXT WEEKEND. THIS WILL BRING IN DRIER AND WARM AIR. THE
ATMOSPHERE REMAINS UNSTABLE AND THE PASSAGE OF AT LEAST WEAK
SYSTEMS WILL KEEP SOME THREAT OF MAINLY AFTERNOON SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ALIVE. YET THE BEST THREAT WILL BE IN THE MOUNTAINS.
TEMPERATURES WARM BACK ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE LATTER HALF OF THE
WEEK.
