Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
557 AM MDT Mon Oct 23 2017

.Discussion...

The district will experience the temperature roller coaster
through the course of this week.

A weak dry cold front will drop south across the eastern plains
and Interstate 25 corridor this morning, bringing slightly below
normal temperatures to the region today and tomorrow. Things will
heat back up quickly for Wednesday ahead of another upper low
pressure system, and with increased winds on Wednesday, near
critical fire weather conditions are possible. On Thursday the
chance for some precipitation returns, as does cooler air.
Temperatures then cool another 15 to 20 degrees on Friday, with a
slow warm up then scheduled over the weekend.

Smoke dispersion will remain Poor through 10 am, then become Good
for most areas by noon and last until 1900. Ventilation rates
will slightly better across the far eastern plains, and will be
more restricted along the Interstate 25 corridor due to the cooler
air pooling up against the eastern slopes of the eastern
mountains.
