.DISCUSSION...
A strong front is moving northward into the southeast gulf
today and then begins to weaken by early afternoon. Its parent
low will move into the southeast gulf and then slowly drift toward
Baranof Island through Sunday. As rain bands move northward rain
fall rates will increase this morning the subside through the late
afternoon becoming more showery in nature.

Southerly to easterly winds are steadily increasing this morning
with gusts of 40 to 45 mph expected at the Ketchikan Airport. Near
gale force winds are developing along the Tongass Narrows this
morning. Wind speeds will drop off as the front moves northward.
