SPOT FORECAST FOR RUSH VALLEY RX
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
822 AM MDT SUN MAY 29 2016

.DISCUSSION...WE HAVE A CLOSED LOW OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND
A TROUGH MOVING ACROSS THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. BETWEEN THE TWO
THERE IS WHAT WE CALL A DEFORMATION ZONE WHICH WILL INCREASE
INSTABILITY ACROSS NORTHERN UTAH THIS AFTERNOON...ALTHOUGH IT CAN
NOT BE RULED OUT THAT THE INSTABILITY DEVELOPS BY VERY LATE THIS
MORNING. INITIALLY THE LOW LEVELS ARE RATHER DRY SO WIND GUSTS
FROM VIRGA MORE LIKELY THAN RAIN BUT BY AFTERNOON SCATTERED
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH RAIN REACHING THE GROUND WILL BE
MORE COMMON.

THE TROUGH MOVES THROUGH TONIGHT AND A DRY NORTHWEST FLOW WILL
SET IN DURING THE DAY MONDAY. A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL
PREVAIL THE REST OF THE WEEK WITH VERY WARM TEMPERATURES AND LOW
RH BY END OF THE WORK WEEK.
