...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

THE AREAS AFFECTED INCLUDE...
  ALENUIHAHA CHANNEL...
  BIG ISLAND LEEWARD WATERS...
  BIG ISLAND WINDWARD WATERS...

AT 744 AM HST...DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS...CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WINDS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS. THESE
THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 7 NM SOUTH OF
FAD BUOY GG TO 44 NM EAST OF FAD BUOY KH, OR OVER THE WINDWARD AND
LEEWARD BIG ISLAND WATERS AS WELL AS THE ALENUIHAHA CHANNEL. THE
THUNDERSTORMS WERE NEARLY STATIONARY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MARINERS CAN EXPECT GUSTY WINDS TO AROUND 30 KNOTS...LOCALLY HIGHER
WAVES...LIGHTNING STRIKES...AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS. BOATERS SHOULD SEEK
SAFE HARBOR IMMEDIATELY UNTIL THESE STORMS PASS.

INTENSE LIGHTNING IS OCCURRING WITH THESE STORMS. IF CAUGHT ON THE
OPEN WATER STAY BELOW DECK IF POSSIBLE...KEEP AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED
METAL OBJECTS.
