...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 PM AKST
FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Anchorage has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from midnight tonight to 6 PM AKST
Friday.

* WIND...Northeast wind 40 to 60 with gusts to 80 mph.

* TIMING...Winds are expected to rapidly increase beginning late
  tonight and continue into Friday afternoon. High winds will then
  slowly diminish on Friday evening, but strong gusty winds are
  then expected to continue through Friday night.

* LOCATION...Thompson Pass and Valdez

* IMPACTS...Cold temperatures along with high winds will create
  wind chills from 30 to 40 below zero through Thompson Pass.
  Travel may be difficult. Trees may be blown over. Loose debris
  can be moved and damage property.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A high wind warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. People are urged to secure loose objects that could
be blown around or damaged by the wind.
