...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM PDT /8 AM MST/ THIS
MORNING TO 11 PM PDT /11 PM MST/ THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect from 8 AM PDT /8 AM MST/ this morning
to 11 PM PDT /11 PM MST/ this evening. This replaces the Wind
Advisory for the same area.

* TIMING...Winds will increase significantly this afternoon...peak
  early this evening then diminish tonight.

* WINDS...Southwest to northwest winds gusting to around 60 MPH.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may damage roofs...trees...and unsecured
  structures. Dangerous travel conditions due to strong crosswinds
  and areas of blowing dust are expected. Dangerous boating
  conditions are expected on area lakes due to significant wave
  activity.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Check the forecast and road conditions before traveling and be
prepared for reduced visibility and strong crosswinds...
especially in high-profile vehicles. Secure loose objects and
temporary fences/structures. Avoid boating on area lakes during
periods of strong winds.

FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 9 PM PDT
Friday. This is in addition to the High Wind Warning that is in
effect today.

* TIMING...Winds will increase significantly this morning... peak
  this afternoon then decrease slightly tonight. Gusty winds will
  continue through Friday, especially in the northwest portions of
  the Las Vegas Valley.

* WINDS...North to northwest winds gusting to around 60 MPH today.
  Gusting 35 to 50 MPH through Friday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds may damage roofs...trees...and unsecured
  structures. Dangerous travel conditions due to strong
  crosswinds and areas of blowing dust are expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Check the forecast and road conditions before traveling and be
prepared for reduced visibility and strong crosswinds...
